Default Help with console removal

This is going to sound stupid but I am trying to remove the console and can't get the wire connector off of the traction control button. There are two small grey tabs that look like they might be involved but I am not sure. I am just about ready to give up and send back the mods I was planning on installing, so if someone could help, that would be great. It's a 2007 if that helps. Oh, and my vision up close isn't all that great even with 2x magnifiers so I am hoping it is simple.

Do not use the gray tabs. They hold the wires in to the mating portion of the connector. Take a look at this picture attached. The black plug top center of the photograph is the traction control plug. If you zoom in on the picture at that connector you will see the detent that holds it in to the base of the switch. You are looking at the side of the plug in that photo. The top is what plugs in to the TC switch. You will see the gray clip at the base that you are referring to. You will need to use a small flat blade screwdriver or tweezers and lift the corner of the switch just above the gray tab that you see. This will enable you to pull the connector out of the bottom of the switch. It has a very sharp angle to the base and it locks in very firmly.

The traction control switch was the most difficult portion of the install. The rest is much easier.

Pull the gray tab piece out and then the switch can be disconnected.

Got it. It was just stubborn. And of course the tab on the plug for the cigarette lighter was on top closest to the underside of the console. Let's not install it where the tab would be most accessable, that would make too much sense. I am beginning to remember why I quit working on my own cars when I got a real job over twenty years ago.

Thanks for the help.

Can anyone tell me where the middle plug (gray in the center of the pic) connects too?
Just replace the TC button and found this plug unused.
Thank you in advance!

I’m fairly certain it is for the magnetic shocks if you have that option. If not, the plug is not used.

Unplugging the wire connectors is the hardest part of the job when removing the center console.

Absolutely I know that auto manufactures do not care how things come apart but It would be nice if each family of connectors would release the same way. Most have a release that needs to be pushed, but the traction control button is horrible. Up until the time I took my console out the worst one for me to figure out was the mass air flow sensor! That one has a KEY to pull out THEN you can push the relase button. Ridiculous
