There is a line in the middle of the start button (top to bottom), that allows the green indicator light to show through faintly at start up, in the center of the circular arrow. Does this mean the button is starting to crack, or is it just showing through the coating on the surface? It is only showing at the top of the button, about half of the way through the start indentation.
The car only has 2100 miles on it, and I just noticed it this week-end when I was detailing the inside. It may have been there before, but I didn't notice it, since I was so excited about driving the car, and not paying much attention to the interior looks.
If it's just cosmetic, I'm not too concerned, but if it is cracking, maybe it needs replaced. Has anyone else had any experience with this type of problem. As always, the CF expertise is deeply appreciated.
Definitely the beginning of a crack. I wouldn't make a special trip to the dealer for it, but when you take it in for service have them take a look at it. Good Luck!

Mine had the start circle worn through....I bought the car used and I assume it's fingernail scratches. I showed my dealer and he said no worries and ordered a new one covered under warranty.
Thanks for the replies. Maybe it won't crack much more since I'm careful when I start it. I'd like to avoid the trip to the dealer if possible, for the obvious reasons. Is it difficult to replace the switch, or is it something easily done if I bought it.

Thanks again.
I doubt it was anything that anyone did to it...it was probably the heat, so it may get worse by itself this summer. Not sure how difficult it is to replace, but Atomic Autosports is selling painted ones, so they must be fairly easy to R & R.
From what I've read, replacement is fairly easy and straightforward.
There was a thread about a week ago that showed how to take the dash out. Once you've got that done, the switch is right there.
