Trans issue resolved
The Best of Corvette for Corvette Enthusiasts
As for the question about the trans cooler, I'm gonna swap in a higher compacity B&M cooler as soon as possible after the trans swap. But, yes, I have made sure they flush the old one well.
It was found upon further inspection that abuse was not the cause either, rather the "abuse" that was apparent earlier was caused BY the initial failure, the callus treatment of my car by the first dealership here in Asheboro, who put 100+ miles on the car with the damaged trans, and the subsequent trip to Durham/ dealership #2, about 150 miles away.
The failure occured at a low speed, with the trans running a very high temp (260) , reason of that elevated temperature is not yet determined 100%, but was possibly caused by some sort of fluid blockage by another failed part. FWIW, I was doing about 45-50 mph on an off ramp when she went.
Thanks everyone who has been supportive, and thanks to Margerie Duff and everyone at Hendrick for their help and assistance.

100+ miles?????? To diagnose it???? They had no call to do that, and I am suspecting that this is a big part of the reason why they and GM are "manning up".
No way anyone can defend their putting that many miles on that car if it was acting up.
Car came in with a sick transmission. They took it and drove it another 100+ miles and may have screwed it up worse??? Then told you to take it away to another dealership because "we can't fix it" GM doesn't have much choice but to cover it. That dealership should never have gone joy riding in it. Especially while the tranny was acting up.
I think Mag Moss has less to do with this than CYA. No way in hell they should have put over 100 miles on that car, on a customer's car, knowing full well that the tranny was acting up. Whats their excuse for that?
How are they going to accuse him of abusing it, when they abused it?
Figure it. I take my Z06 with rubber all in the fender wells and near slick rear tires, to the dealer because its making a strange noise under the hood and I tell them I think I broke a valve spring.
They say fine, we'll look at it, and then proceed to put 100+ miles on it, it drops a valve, and puts a hole in the block, and they accuse me of abusing it???? I don't think so.
