Garmin 250W. Nice wide screen, very easy to use, less than $ 250 at many stores. Loads of points of interest.

I have a little handheld garmin. Worked for me while I was walking or moving around in Iraq and other great places.

I'm on my second Garmin... the Nuvi 350. 1st one was the Street Pilot. The receiver technology made a quantum leap between the models.

Tom Tom doesnt use Navteq - uses some POS map manufacturer.

Magellan uses Microsoft OS - it Crashes all the time. No Joke.

Garmin ROCKS. Thing is fast, never crashes.

I bought a Garmin 200. I genrally like it. But I was in an area that had some dirt roads and the thing kept trying to lead me down the dirt roads. It has a feature to eliminate dirt roads but that didn't seem to work.

I did a LOT of research on these things and the Garmin Nuvi series is superior to all others for many many reasons. I have the Nuvi 200 but if you want it to speak the street names then the 350 is more your style. The 350 also has 8 hours of lithium ion battery life so you can take it biking, hiking or even pinpoint reefs you saved for ocean fishing/diving.

I just bought a Garmin 660 for my wife's van. What a piece of JUNK! It's going back. So far, I've not found anything that beats the GM Nav. This 660 has plenty of features and it's cousin the 760 has a little more but it isn't very useful beyond watching the screen. The GM unit splits the screen and shows the approaching exits with which facilities. The Garmin will do the same but you have to interact with it too much. Garmin=Garbage

Hmmm... interesting...

I have the factory in dash unit in my 08 Z06 and it works great.

I picked up a Garmin Nuvi 660 about a month ago and has been flawless and simplet to use.

For the folks interested, check out this link! BEst buy has the 660 for $349. However, you can't access t through the regular site. I found the link through Garmin's web site and took me to the non-posted BB page.

http://www.bestbuy.com/site/olspage....=1152228786814

The day I purchased it online, I went to my local best buy and they had it "on sale" for $599.00. However, they were sold out. From order to arrival was 3 day.s

A lot of it does depend on what you want out of the unit - but if you've never had one, you probably don't know yourself yet. I went with one of the simpler Garmin units (NUVI 250W) and I love it. It never fails to get me where I want to go, and while it's a small unit (easily fits in your pocket) it has a good-sized screen. The voice prompts make it unnecessary to look at it, it's updatable, and it was dirt cheap.

Default Garmin Nuvi 680

I absolutely love my Garmin Nuvi 680. Bought it at COSTCO right after Christmas for $350. Bluetooth, MP3, pictures, weather, traffic gas prices, movie times with included MSN . Excellent routing engine (read the online comparisons with other units.) Seldom takes you on a bad route. Screen changes at sundown to dark format (easier on the eyes.) Very user friendly. This is about my 5th Garmin never a problem yet.
