at the time I was told because the c6 was new all they could get was factory...knock off replacements had not been started being produced yet...not sure what all is available now...but would like to replace mine...if reasonable...and in Katy TX.. as Kevin now knows vette windshields are not safe

i own a full service glass shop,17 years & over 12,
000 installs ,dont use a big name shop [CHAIN],they have a huge turnover ,you dont know who you will get doing the install,if you dont have a choice then meet the installer they ARE USING,ASK HIM WHAT HIS EXPERIENCE ,CERTIFICATION[NGA?ETC]& IF HE HAS DONE LATEMODEL VETTES,DO YOU HAVE A GOOD REP WITH ANYBODY IN SERVICE DEPT @THE DEALER,THAT COULD STEER A GOOD SUB CONTRACTOR THEY USE,MY CHEVY DEALER USES US BECAUSE THEY DONT WANT ANY COME BACKS OR UNHAPPY CUSTOMERS ,NOT JUST A CHEAP PRICE [WE ARE NOT THE CHEAPEST]DONE THEIR WORK FOR 12 YEARS.GOOD LUCK

Got an 8" crack from a cinder that was kicked up on a highway when the Vette had only 400 miles on her. The replacement cost was $1600 and I insisted on a GM logoed windshield versus a non-branded windshield since the car was so new. The insurance company agreed completely. I had them come and replace the windshield in my garage at home. Two guys showed up and did a great job. They were extremely aware that they were working on a brand new car. Make sure you get the right windshield...if you have a HUD or Onstar....it makes a difference... there have been absolutely no problems with the new windshield and you'd never know it had been replaced. Hope your experience is as good as mine was.....
