160mph..will the cops try

I was having a conversation about this and wanted to know what you guys thought.

If you are going 160 mph+ will a cop even try to stop you?

In the old days, maybe not. But it's not out running a cop car that's the problem, it's outrunning their radios...not going to happen. So yes, they will go after you.

I don't know if all states have the same laws, but in FL 160 is double the speed limit, considered wreckless, and if you have any other blemishes on your traffic record, they can seize your vehicle...

I think in Nevada that is a $2000 fine and 6 months in jail.

They will still try. Several years ago I went through a speed trap at a very high speed. A saw the lights come on at the top of the on ramp. Was so far ahead I was able to get off at the next off ramp and blend into traffic. I was very stupid back then.

20 year state LEO here. If I caught someone doing a 160 mph that would buy a world of trouble! It will also trigger an alert with every local PD within 30 miles in Connecticut....

It's an extremely stupid, dangerous and loser play! I hope none of my corvette bros here would even think of something that stupid....

Maybe it's just me, but every jack butt I see riding on a crotch rocket is always going way too fast and/or weaving in and out of traffic and I have yet to see a cop go after them!
