I wish GM offered a factory "Wide Fender and Fat Tires" package for the base vette, I'd buy it just for the looks...
but...
I agree that even though its "narrow", I do like the looks of the base...
I made a thread awhile back about this very thing. I think it should be part of the Z51 package, along with a few more ponies. Not a lot maybe 10-20 via a CAI & remapped computer.
I really like the styling of the Z06. The performance is great but it is the styling that attracts me to the car.

The Z06 body is just perfect in my opinion. The lines of my base C6 seem almost flat on some angles. The wide fender and quarter lines of the Z06 take care of that for me.
I like the lines of both for their respective purposes. The z06 needed more rubber to accommodate more hp. The base C6 has a clean look that flows well. If I were going to do the wide conversion, I would opt for the Caravaggio quarters. I love the look without the scoops and it compliments the front. Z06 rear scoops don't look right with the flat fronts to me.
Does the Z06 fender look more "hooded" than the base C6 fender from the side view? Is it the same arch across the top? I know it's wider, but it seems to flatten out a bit at the top.
I also prefer the looks of the "base" C6, which is an extremely well executed design. I have never liked added scoops (on any vehicle)which really do not integrate well with the original design. I agree with the poster above who likes the looks of the vert best. But ONLY with the top down. With the top up, I prefer the C6 coupe for looks.
Vette convertibles rock and I love the waterfall!
Don't get me wrong...Z06 is great but the Vette is the best looking convertible made today! Now I just really wish they made a Z convertible...just about a perfect car.
Anybody have a line on good vert rollbars?

Reason: Mistake
I did the Z06 body on my black coupe because I found the kit at an UNBEATABLE price from someone needing to get rid of it. Then I still needed paint and wheels and tires. I love the look, but looking back I wonder if it was worth the trouble and expense. I see some other very mean lookin C6's here and sometimes miss the sleek styling. I think the C6 coupe just needs the right stance to look menacing, just dropped a little and leveled.
Okay, this is just something I was thinking about and wanted to see what others thought about it. I love the way my "base" C6 looks and wonder if there was anyone out there like me who prefers the narrow body over the Z06 styling? The base C6 styling seems to be what the designers intended the C6 to look like and the Z06 styling was an after thought. Don't get me wrong I am not saying the Z06 wide body is ugly by any means, I actually like it a lot but would not convert my car to a wide body as I prefer the styling of the Base a little more.
I also should say that I am a gear head and would certainly take a Z06 over my Base due to the upgraded performance but not soley on the styling alone. The enitre package is what makes the Z06 appealing to me.
Am I the only odd ball here?
I think the base c6 is very stylish and my black one looks stunning, but i saw a black z06 with chrome wheels at the dealership getting detailed and it was insanely badass!
I kind of wish all c6 models had the z06 body and the zo6 engine was optional.
When the C6 first hit and the rumors of the Z06 were flying I could hardly wait for pics. Then pics started showing up and I was still liking the C6 coupe better, the styling was so slick ... maybe it was me reasoning that the Z was out of reach, don't know.
It's funny how things change. To quote PeeWee Herman, "Your mind plays tricks on you, you play tricks back." They're both beautiful rides and anyone fortunate enough to be able to partake is IMHO lucky indeed. Yesterday while cruising in the Z with the wife, a cool dude driving a nice silver C5 slowed down as we passed and gave the two-handed "hail sign". The wife said "You loved that, didn't you." Hell yeah! I'd love to buy that guy dinner.

Or at least, mostly agree. I think the front end on the base model looks better. Also in my opinion, the base engine offers more potential for maximum horsepower after appropriate upgrades. I simply didn't find the Z06 worth all the extra $$$ (and especially not the ZR-1).
