When I got mine there were 2 versions. The one exceeded corporate decibel limits and may not be legal in all areas. I have the loud one. It has a nice rumble at idle but can get pretty loud with throttle. I also get a lot of popping when coasting.

I have the performance version on mine ('07, Z51, 6MN) and really enjoy the sound. There is a burble at idle and a mild rapping on deceleration. The system is loudest when accelerating but suprisingly quiet at a steady speed/rpm. I'd recommend the performance system to anyone. By the way, the tips on mine are clamped , not welded.
The dealer (Andy Mohr Chevrolet, Plainfield, In.) quoted the part number as: GM 1780884.
My neighbor has the quieter of the two versions on his 08 Z51 and does not like them. He wanted to trade straight across for my stock ones and after spending an hour in his car I declined. There is a bad resonation at idle while in drive and then it comes back at certain RPM's while cruising. As soon as you come off of idle when you want some noise, it gets very quiet. He had the entire hatch Dynomatted (sound deadening) which helped some. He did not save his stock exhaust and the dealer has agreed to give him the stock exhaust off of the next one that they do. If he decides to sell them, I will post something on the forum for him.
