Does anyone here power shift their LS3 with the new tranny? I am from the old days (early 70's) when power shifting was the only way. How is it done now. I read on the Z section where there are comments that the power is so great that parts can break easy......Does the same apply here???????

Nope, I don't power shift-actually, I haven't done one in 20 or so years and then it was with a motorcycle. Anyway, I doubt anything will break if it is done properly, but other than the 60's like drama of banging gears what are you going for that requires a power shift?
I never said I power shifted, just asked if others did. My power shifting days were back when I young enough to be able to. If I tried it now, I would probably pull my back out. Just wanted to know after reading the post in the Z area.
By the way, my VIN is XOXOXOXOXOXOXOXOXOXO-007. If they want to get me, they are already tracking my movements with the GPS and listening to my conversations with the OnStar in stealth mode and taping my cell phone and intercepting all my emails (poor slob assigned to check all the junk emails I get is probably fresh out of FBI/NSA/HLS school), using long range listening devices and finally using the satelites to zoom in on my naked butt as I skinny dip in my pool. Who cares if they think I 'may' be power shifting. I did not see that in the warranty disclaimers. But then I am not paranoid like some, just a realist.

Be careful, GM has their black helicopters in the air even as we speak!
Really, I agree on the age limits thing to power shifting
I still power shift from time to time. Doesn't seem to bother anything yet. I will admit I don't do it much but sometimes you just feel the need!! 13,400 miles on 2008 CRM coupe.
Not to sound ignorant, but what exactly IS powershifting? Is it not using the clutch at all? I think I read that John Heinricy was able to obtain very quick 0 - 60 times doing that in Vettes so I'm curious.
Powershifting is basically shifting real fast WHILE keeping your foot planted on the gas pedal. Only time it's going to help in my opinion is when your shooting for the absolute lowest tenths at the drag strip.

It's essentially beating the $hit out of your drivetrain. Things may seem OK at first but it will catch up with you. You risk over-revving (or at least bumping off the rev limiter), clutch damage, CV joint damage, axle breakage, etc. etc. all the way through the powertrain. Best done on someone else's vehicle.
