Weird thing
Took my daughter to school this morning.Ambient temp was 37.Got back home,washed and waxed the Vette.Went out this afternoon and car indicated temp was still 37 when it was 66.Only hot air came out of the vents.After a couple of miles the indicated temp went up to 66 and the AC kicked on.Never had this happen in over 3 years of ownership.Anyone else experience this?

Normal. Until the temp sensor dries out (probably got some water on it from the wash), and until you have driven for a distance, the temp will not go up. This is to prevent false readings from say sitting at a light above hot pavement.

From the manual:There is also a sensor located behind the front bumper.
This sensor reads the outside air temperature and
helps to maintain the temperature inside the vehicle.
Any cover on the front of the vehicle could give a false
reading in the temperature.
If the outside temperature goes up, the displayed
temperature will not change until:
• The vehicle’s speed is above 10 mph (16 km/h) for
five minutes.
• The vehicle’s speed is above 32 mph (52 km/h) for
two and a half minutes.
These delays prevent false readings. If the temperature
goes down, the outside temperature will be shown
when you start the vehicle. If it has been turned off for
less than three hours, the temperature will be recalled
from the previous vehicle operation.

The main reason for not wanting to get a false reading is that the outside sensor does help determine how the climate control is going to behave. There are 2 additional sensors in the cabin. There is a solar sensor in the top of the dash and a temperature sensor just to the left of the ignition switch.
