I've noticed a lot of people's dissatisfaction with XM Radio. I happen to like it. I was wondering if I were alone or if there are others out there who truly enjoy it.
Yes, I like it. It's the only place, where, I can listen to "country music" in my Vette and truck. We don't have any country stations left around here, anymore. I've been playing the pedal steel guitar for the last 30 yrs. and I like being able to listen to the music I like the best.
I've got XM in the Vette, both my sons' cars and I listen to it on the PC. I really like their variety of R & B stations. And it's the only place I can listen to Astros' games here in Ala-Bammy. And like I've said before...I'd pay extra to keep money out of Howard Sterns' pockets on SIRIUS!
I've had xm and sirius for four years, sirius off and on, xm on a continuous basis. The s.q. is so bad I don't really even bother listening to music anymore. I use it for cnbc, o-n-a and ron and fez. The wife has sirius in her new mustang, and it doesn't sound too bad on the stock system. On an aftermarket system the lack of fidelity really shows. It's too bad, years ago xm sounded great, before they went to 170 channels. I'm really not sure I'm gonna bother to get the xm or sirius module when I do the system in the vette. On line, check out slacker.com, they've got excellent "stations" and a portable is available, I think it will replace my xm.
I am big fan too. We have XM in the Vette and Sirius in our other cars. I actually like XM a little better than Sirius, but with an impending merger, not enough to switch the other radios to XM.
We love being able to listen to the same station when we go on long trips (which we do about 5 to 6 times a year) and the fact that most of the stations we listen to are commercial free is an extra benefit.
I love XM radio. I have 3 subscriptions. I noticed the XM in my wifes 2007 Nissan Altima works perfectly. But in my 2005 Vette, the reception is poor. I'm thinking of swapping out the antenna on my vette with a Nissan unit. They look almost the same. Both my corvette and her Nissan have the Bose Nav stereo, so you'd think that they would both work the same. I'll let you know how this works in the next few weeks.
