Default 08 Nav install question

I have an 08 3LT car with no Nav. Looking to install factory Nav unit. I understand its a plug and play. Does it matter if the unit is from an 05,06,07? Does the unit I install in my 08 need to be an 08 unit. Is there any differences in the 08 unit over older units other than the updated disc's?

Also does the 08 Nav have the I Pod hook up like the 6 Disc changer does?

Any help would be great.

I realize that this will not answer your question but I will try to help you anyway and be the first one to say it...don't do it! The factory NAV is crap, you can get a far superior unit with more functionality (Ipod, bluetooth, etc) for cheaper if you go aftermarket.Good luck on your decision.

I have been thinking about it. The Pioneer D3 unit. That will be a last resort. I haven't found anyone that has a unit installed. I just really like the factory look. Thanks

I have that Unit. Awesome for the price. Only drawback is you can only put one cd/dvd, hence the price but it works for me. I have to leave work in a few minutes but I will try to post a pic, looks way better than factory. Meanwhile here's a recent reference to the POS factory nav:

The dash kit is not a perfect match but good enough for me. The bottom of the unit was scratched by my friend

You are correct. When I'm done with this car the Factory Nav. unit is a factory option and will not hurt resale. An aftermarket Nav will in a lot of peoples eyes, but again I'm sure you have a smart *** comment on that to. I want what I want, period. Now if you have nothing helpful to say............

Thank you for the fast pictures. That doesn't look bad but it will be my last resort. Again thanks for the information.
