I think GM was right by painting the center console flat grey to match the flat black color of the radio, nav, etc.
In my case, I have the steel grey (like titanium) interior which clashes with the stock grey console color. So I would like to change the console color.
I have pondered buying the various supporting vendor's glossy clear coat offerings including the carbon fiber, matching body color and burl wood options. I like many of them except for the glossy finish that is a mismatch with the flat black IMO.
Has anyone done a different color than grey in flat with their console? Got any pics?

Im with you Hummer, I would like it flat black to replace the flat silver for my gray interior. Maybe a DIY project since the panel doesnt take abuse it shouldnt get scratched.
I painted the console, dash pods and door release buttons on my '05 with "Satin Black" (NOT flat Black) and it matched the color/texture of the radio/Nav surround very closely. Sorry, no pictures, have traded the car.
The '08 still has the funky silver finish around the door release buttons, I'll have to find the can of Satin Black and paint them.
