The ZR1 is an awesome car but it still doesn't make me want one. For what the dealerships will undoubtedly be charging for one I could come up with a modded C6/C6 Z06 I'd be happier with. Still a cool car though.

It will take time for collision repair parts to become available. I remember back in late '04 (or was it early '05) when one of the first people to get a C6 on these forums had his car hit on the first day he got it. A neon rear ended a pickup in the lane next to him. The impact lifted the back of the truck up and forced it over comming down on the hood/fender of the C6. It would have been an easy repair (hood, light, front facia, fender) but the car was totalled becaues the parts were not available from GM yet and wouldn't be for 4+ months.
That said... I believe a ZR-1 body panel conversion would be easy... you could make a pretty cool look alike with a Z06 front facia, MTI front carbon lip, MCM hood with carbon fiber center, then get Z06 quarter panels and a rear lip spoiler. The hard part will be the fenders... hopefully someone like Caravaggio can make a fiberglass or SMC look-alike like they do for the Z06 fenders now.
