Ok so I have a regular 3 ton floor jack that works prety well but it is a bit high profile for my car in some points. Wondering if anyone could tell me where to get something like this
or maybe direct me to a good low profile floor jack
Thanks for the ideas. Not sure what I will choose I will have to think about it. I have a local harbor freight store it doesn't look any lower profile then the jack I have though. As for the Omega I might go that route.
I don't know if this is what you might be looking for but if they ever get them in stock I'm going to get one on these electric jacks. Go to WWW.Generatordepot.us and check them out. They have a 1 and 2 ton versions.
I just use a Craftsman 2 ton aluminum floor jack with my Northern Tool adaptor beams. I slightly modified the jack so the pins on the adaptor beams seat fully and safely on the jack.
Like the car in the picture, I made some small wooden ramps to drive onto to give me enough clearance to get the jack (with the adaptor beam(s) mounted) under the car to the preferred lifting points.
I have the omega also and even with it being low profile I still need to drive up on something to use the cross beam in the front. That said if you drive up on something a little taller you may be able to use the jack you have or something a little taller. although I do like the omega, as stated it is very heavy.
I too was considering a jack. It looks like the blue one in the pic above would be in the way for a oil change. There is a nice set of wide ramps with low profile approach supplement ramps available from Napa Auto Parts. The Napa part number is 520-1206. The ramps are steel and 10" wide to accomodate the Vette tires. The last thing I need is another hydrolic jack to be tripping over. I would much rather have a set of ramps to trip over so there is some variety
Northern Tool makes a decent low profile jack for like $99. It works well and is low, the only beef is the speed at which it lowers the car. Some times it drops the car a little faster than I'd like.

You're incorrect! The low profile from there is 3 inches high and with plenty of room to fit under the car and under your jacking pucks.
