are we all forgetting the original Hertz hot car? hasn't done too badly for itself, has it?

This Zhz tag isn't too bad. It's a way for potential buyers to be aware that the car most likely has been abused by multiple folks. Now the difficult part will be when a consumer buys the car and mods it to look like a regular "off the showroom" Vette.
IMHO...some things just don't go together and that is rental car agencys and Vettes. I think GM is chasing the almighty dollar right now and telling the private Vette owners to "screw off". GM does not care about the reputation of the Vette. If these are 2008's then I see the 2008 resale value being less in a few years as the uninformed consumer will not know whether or not the Vette they're buying is a used Zhz or regular stock. This just ain't good folks, IMHO.

If I was younger, I wouldn’t mind owning a beat-up Hertz Corvette ZHZ.
The problem is collectors will snag them as soon as Hertz takes them out of inventory.
For young collectors, ….. I would think about getting one?
I might be wrong, but just my opinion.
1966 production was 1373 fastbacks including (2) prototypes and (4) drag cars

I like it as it puts more Vettes for rent when I need one traveling out of town. Allows me to fly into LA and drive round trip to WA state to visit friends. Beautiful scenery, great car, and no miles on my Vette at home. Before this you could only rent a vert, which has little storage for a two week trip.

I kinda dig it, The fact that I can travel to the Big Big Island up there with you all, and have the choice of renting a Coupe and possibly attending a show or cruise would be a blast. Otherwise I'd have to show up with a Mustang? If I wanted some type of performance driver. I'm sure I would be at the back of the line. Now, I don't have to drop 1.5K to ship my ride, tho I definately would not consider owning a rental car of any type, just my opinion, Salt

Well, I found 1 reference for ZHZ, at Hertz:

Almost the bottom of the page under "Specialty Recreation Vehicle".

ZHZ Badged car a keeper
You might do well to look back at the Mustangs and Olds cars Hertz has become affiliated with. They are, today, bringing significantly higher dollars than the "standard" stangs and 442's. Just a thought for those who don 't trade/sell every couple of years................

Not too bad, but as an investment not too good either. If you put the $4,500 base price (skip all the other options and costs) to work in 1966 at 10%, you'd have all the purported NADA value of the Mustang in your pocket with enough money left over to pay retail for a new Z06.

Interesting note on the name ZHZ. Someone at Hertz is a science geek.
The hertz (symbol: Hz) is the International System of Units (SI) base unit of frequency.
Hertz=hertz=Hz, get it?
