Default HPDE - do these remove?

I am participating in my first HPDE course with my own Corvette. The track rules state that hub caps and beauty rings must be removed from your wheels. My question - do these center rings remove? I checked the owners manual and saw no instructions. It feels like they can be removed but how without scratching?

Thanks.

just grab them with a finger in each groove and squeeze a little bit and pull hard, they should come right off

If they are really stubborn take the wheel off and push from behind with a wooden handle. They should pull right off though from the front.

I have been to many events with my '05 and have never been required to remove the center caps.

With the wheel off - as you bleed your brakes ( you will do that right?) they pop right off by hand from the inside. From the outside, put tape on a flat screwdriver and they will pop off. (if your finger nails can't do it)

Although, I've never been required to remove the wheel center caps on the tracks I run on it's a good idea to do so. It hasn't happened often but I have lost two etched CCW center caps on the track before (most likely clipping the rumble strips). My new CCW track wheels don't have any center caps which is good...loose pieces-parts on the track are a definite hazard.
