I never should have sold it. I really thought about it for months... Sell the corvette, get a fast 4 door car. But I tell you what, I cant find any I like. Looked at E55's, CTS-V's M5... But I dont even get 1/10th the joy I get from my Vette....... WTF am I to do?

I can relate....sold my 408 stroker C5 vert for a 600 hp CTS-V....had that for less than 6 months...... You guessed it, in a C6 now.

As human beings, we are destined to make mistakes. You made one, recognized it, and now are in a position to make amends. I see you back in the saddle of a Vette before long!
Life is precarious and too short. Just had a friend of mine die from a brain annuerism. Boom...just like that. Reaffirms that we need to enjoy every day and if that involves you owning a Vette.....well, so be it!

I feel your pain...at least until last weekend. I sold my 2004 so my wife could get the house she wanted. Yes, without her I would live in a doublewide trailer with a nice attached 4-car garage. Anyway, I had been in tears since I sold it. I have bugged my wife for the last 2 years for a new one. She finally broke. I feel like a completely different person. It is an addiction, a horrible drug. I just needed a convertible and now I am all . Good luck getting another one.

Charger
SRT-8?
Pontiac G8?
Not a Vette, but nice rides. I'd say the SRT8 has more of a badboy image.
We've got a Charger Daytona as well, not near a fast and nimble as the Corvette, but still somewhat fun.

There's only one cure for what ails you...buy another Corvette. It's true; a 4-door sedan just doesn't have the thrill factor a Corvette does.
I drove 3 different BMW's for 20 years or so and I still like them. I think their styling suffered for many years but I am impressed with the new M3...it looks much better. I've seen some incredibly well setup and well driven BMW's on the track but most of the M-series Bimmer's I see are real 'twitchy' going around the curves. I see BMW's spinout more than any other car.
I never told my wife when I ordered my new C6. I could afford it and buying the car wasn't going to change our lifestyle. I didn't feel the need to ask for permission...it wasn't like I was spending any money that she brings into our marital partnership. Not to worry though...it's not like my wife is doing without...not by a longshot. When it comes to money I'm the financially prudent one.
For crying out loud guys what is with this " begging the wife, or the wife says " crap? Are you making the money that will pay for this car ? If all you financial ducks are in a row what is stopping you ? Permission ? Screw that ! Go out and buy the damn thing she will get over it. ! I was supposed to quit buying Corvettes with the '92 according to the wife. That was two Corvettes ago ! She knows not to tell me what I can and can not do now. If you are a good husband and provider and what in the hell are you waiting for ? Sorry for the rant but I couldn't take it anymore.

G 8
Occassionally you have to have a back seat. I solved my problem with a Trailblazer SS with 395 hp LS2 Vette engine. I don't think it's available anymore but the G 8 has a Vette engine option.
This way my Vette can sit in the garage when I need the back seat.

Your wife needs to loosen up maybe.
My wife called my '00 a Pu$$y Mobile.... But she also knew how much a Corvette meant to me. She is no longer on this Earth, but how she would love to be with me with the roof out and sporting around The LakeFront on a pleasant sunny day. Everywhere we would go, people would wave and tell us how nice our car was! My new license plate , and my first personalized one, "MRSDOLL" in memory of my most wonderful wife of 25 years.

You break my heart everytime I read about your loss. My wife and I have literally grown up together. She was 19 and I was 20 when we met. We have been together ever since and thats 27 years now!
I couldn't imagine being without my best friend! Be strong and good luck buddy!
Sorry for going off topic!

Hmmm...if I couldn't have my Corvette I don't think it would be too tough to be happy with an E63 AMG or an S6. (I never have been and never will be a BMW guy.) As for the G8, it's too spartan for my taste but those Teutonic alternatives would be tough to beat.

Buy your Vette and get a beater for transporting the kids and wife around. By doing this you have the best of both worlds as you don't have to worry about parking and such with the beater and you have a great weekend toy.
