Friends and fellow Vette guys, Does anyone know if there is a brake pad that will not leave so darn much black dust on the wheels but still won't wear out the rotors quickly? I'm taking a long trip and when I come back I think I will need brakes.
Second problem happend before but I forgot how I fixed it. I ran the battery down screwing with the navigation system and when I charged it back up, eveything works okay except the windows do not close tight when the doors are closed. I can manually raise the windows and when I open the doors they do come down but won't go back up when I close the doors. I know is it some silly thing I have to reset but I don't remember what it is. Can anyone help?? Thanks.. Marvin
From the "book" after a power disconnect, the window index-up feature will not function until the system is intialized.
Once power is restored:
1. close the door
2.Raise the window and hold the switch up for 3 seconds after the window is closed
3. release the switch, then hold the switch up again for 3 seconds and release.
4. hope this helps
Brakes, I am not sure what you can do about that. The windows are not going all the way up due to running the battery down. Read in your mannual about window indexing, this will help you correct the problem.
Hey is that a Radical, what engine are you running?:cool
I rebuild them and sell them to the track day crowd ,the one in my avaitar was a 1507cc Hayabusa. 252 horsepower in 1051 lb car. fun ride. Vette is more comfortable

Brakes: Get rid of that filthy garbage that came with the car and get the GM AC/Delco DuraStop Ceramic Pads.
Part Numbers for an 08 with F55 (they are sold in rears and fronts):
GM Part Numbers: 88909667/88909668
AC/Delco Part Numbers: 17D731CH/17D732CH/.
You can get them from Bob/Tom at Fichtner Chevrolet or Gene at GMPartsHouse.com. Both are forum vendors and will know exactly what you need. About $130 for both sets.
Gets rid of the dust/asbestos/noise. Don't even think about anything else unless you have servants with nothing to do.
Thanks for that piece of advice. Also, thanks to the fellows that helped with the windows. If all else fails, read the instruction manual.. LOL The case is now closed. I shall take your advice and go with the GM ceramics although others have said they will wear out the rotors pretty fast. Is it really a fact that these rotors are only good for two brake jobs?
