I have a C6/Z51/NPP exhaust 2008. Thinking about installing headers/
Anyone installed Billy Boats or LG long-tube headers? If so, can you give me your impression of what a header installation will do as far as horsepower and torque, ET and trap speed?
Any other brand opinions also welcome. Thanks in advance.
LG Pro long tube headers are perhaps the most popular brand. For my money they had to be LG Pro headers.
If you value your warranty, I would strongly suggest you contact your dealership prior to installing the headers. My dealership aggressively denies warranty service to any performance modified car. I wish it were otherwise but I understand why GM 'voids' vast portions of warranty coverage when you modify their product.
For more significant mods, I was willing to lose vast portions of my factory warranty (which worked out well as I've had virtually no problems). For something like headers or a tune, I might not risk my warranty coverage.
Just food for thought. Good luck whatever you decide to do.
think real hard about headers. IMHO it's alot of money for not much gain, the claim of 20-30 hp for what? anywhere from $2500- $4000 installed, I'm got a 2006 mn6 LS-2, K&N filters, stock airbirdge, crane "quicklift" full roller rocker arms, in 1.7, X-pipe, stock exhaust, I use a predator 91 octane tune and had it"custom"tuned to the car, I'm getting 379.9rwhp 384tq on a mustang dyno! this is right up there with the guys with{and higher then some} headers and CAI for about $1600. my next money is on the new weiand manifold, read and watch what other people are doing and learn from "their" mistake's, I have a friend who shoveled money into his car and he is impressed with mine!
