avery clear bra
i need an answer fast guys...im having a clear bra installed today and the guy uses this product and he said this is better than venture shield...does anybody heard about this product or have used it...thx in advance
The guy I'm using to install a clear bra in Houston uses the same Avery product. He says it won't yellow like the 3M product does. That's all I know. To give you an idea on price, he's going to charge me $495 for the bumper, fenders, part of hood, and mirrors. Good luck!

i have the same color as yours kevin...and he said on red i'll be hard to notice it...my guy said he'll do everything your doing plus the rocker panels for $450...he'll be here in a few hours
im just having some doubts about the product since its the first time i've heard about it...it's usually either the 3M or the venture shield that guys have used it on their car here in the forum
and warranty. I have the 3M installed on mine for a year. No yellow and 3M has a 5 year warranty. IMHO 3M is the only way to go.
Avery is the number 3 film out of the 4 major brands. I dotn presonally like installing it and will not use it. I use the 3m industrial grade film, ClearMask AR. I just never liked the finish or the durability of the film. yes the install does mean a lot, but you also need to go with a good film. Just my two cents.
From my research, Avery doesn't even come close in quality when compared to 3M and Venture. What I found is that it's thinner (less protection), has no clear coat (will absorb dirt, etc), it is easier to install (since it's thinner) and generally it costs less (one true advantage). I would pass and go with either 3M or Venture. I went with 3M and have no yellowing problems and after some 60,000 miles not a single stone chip.

The problem with Avery is the finish dulls very quickly. I just don’t even consider it when I install because I would rather use a proven film with a good finish/durability then having to go back and redo jobs because the film looks bad. I have found the 3M industrial film, ClearMask, to be the best all around film out there. I only use VentureShield for full hood wraps... and really never use 3M automotive (ScotchGuard) unless I absolutely have to.

Are there different grades of the Avery film?
My installer claims that he has never been called back to redo one. However, if I am ever not happy with the look I WILL be calling him back. So I am just curious.

Honestly I am not sure. I have tried Avery a few times when I first started off installing a few years ago. I havent used it since. I will check in the installer forum and see if anyone else has an idea. I know there are a few guys still using it but pretty much everyone has been going with VentureShield and 3M.

Give it a shot and see how you like it. It has a warranty so worst case scenario is you will get a refund. Definately post some pics when you get it back. Would love to see the finished product.

I had a clear bra installed in Jan of 08 by a reputable company. I asked them " what is the best clear bra material available today?" they replied " Venture Shield. " Venture Shield has a lifetime warrantee against yellowing, bubbling and peeling. My installer was not cheap, but they do excellent work and on high end cars: Ferrari's, Lambo's, Porsche GT, GT 3, GT 2, Turbo's, AMG's, BMW's, Audi's, Vettes and even a Buggatti Veryon with a full wrap. My point is find the most experienced installer because they will make the difference. Also, there are two ways to install clear bra Custom or Pre cut. Custom uses full sheets that are cut by the installer and wrapped at the edges. Pre cut uses software programs to cut the pieces, not as accurate as a custom fit. Pre cut will sometimes have more cuts vs. custom can be installed with one piece. They did my hood in one full piece and front nose in one full piece with the lights cut in separately.
I am happy I did it. Good luck!
