Is there a way to tell your build number from your vin?

Your build number is the last 5 digits of your VIN. The cars are built sequentially. If you are looking for your build date, send a PM to forum member GMAutotech. He can access the GM VIS which will give you the date of your cars build.

That would make mine number 6564. Thanks Talon
Picked her up on 10/27/04. Thought she would be a little lower.Not that it matters. 43000 miles and running strong.

Sounds about right to me. My car was built on 10/4/04 and my last 4 are 4614. They build about 150 per day on average with less at the start of the model run as the line ramps up, and more at the end. They can be as low as 100 per day and as high as 175 ish with overtime.

Could Rush be looking for his sequence number? That is a different number than the VIN.
