Default navigation question

I'm back and with a new 2008 black coupe. And do I love the new optioned exhaust system. When I got home and opened up the manual packet, there was no navigation booklet. They say I can get one next week. But in the interim, There is a route on the nav, that I guess they put in for an example at the deaslership and set it as the home icon. everytime I get in, it goes to that route designation. I put in a new home location today when I arrived at work, so here is what I was wondering. If I push the home button icon when I get back in the car tonight, will that negate the previous route, that is drviing me crazy??? Or can I just use a verbal command??? Or is there a cancel sequence that I can use for that route. There must be some way on this unit to just cancel a route guidance any time during the route. Heck my wife's chrysler has an actual cancel button. It's that easy to just terminate a route in progress. I looked in the preset routes and there are none. I am getting sick and tired after two days of ownership, to have the nav system telling me to go somewhere I don't want to go. Any help will ge greatly appreciated. I am hoping that if I just push the HOME icon after I get in the car after work, it will negate the previous annoying one and just set up my way home. Here's hoping. Thanks.

do a quick search for nav manual and download. I've seen it in several places on the net.

This will take care of your existing route.

As to the nav manual. While you are waiting for your paper manual you can find a download pdf version in post #193 by Facade-C6 in the sticky thread at the top of the forum page entitled C6 FAQ (Frequently Asked Questions).

Although the Nav voice recognition method is not as reliable as using the buttons, you could also try pushing the top button on the Nav unit and saying, “Cancel Destination”. The last home destination you established will remain until you delete it or replace it with another destination.
