I installed bumper (chrome) letters and they stuck well...looks like a permanent bond and they look great on the black vette.
I installed the same letters on the dash and they are loose and just not stuck at all. They look ready to fall out.
I cleaned both areas (5 times each with alcohol and swabs) and installed them the same way, using masking tape, letting them cure, the whole works.
Is there any glue that would be suitable for re-installing the dash letters that would stick but could later be removed if need be?
I would appreciate any help from the forum members. Thank you.
The secret, I've learned is adhesive promoter! It came in a small tube just like Krazy Glue. Its a lot thinner though. I put some on a small brush and traced over the area where the letters were to be appliied.... Let it set for a few minutes.... Then put the letters on. The will stick and stay in place... I also used heavier Stainless Steel vs vinyl or Acrylic letters.

Tom is absolutely correct. Buy some 3M 4298 adhesive accelerator. It doesn't take the place of proper cleaning and prep but after the clean it really sticks. I have the dash lettering on my VY Coupe and I used the accelerator as part of the process. It looks pretty "stuck" to me.
I hope that you got the soft acrylic ones for the dash and not the metal ones. I don't want to think what the metal ones would do when the airbag inflates.

They are the flexible chrome ones...else I'd have ETTEVROC permanently imprinted on my forehead (or chest) if le sac gonflable inflated.
