Two reasons...
1) As most Corvettes do, the C6 looks better with more curves, and bigger 'hips'
2) 400+ HP can use all the rear tires you can stuff under it

I would get the wide rear but I don't think anyone offers it painted LMB for $1k shipped. Oh well.
