Bad Boy Jake
Is Bad Boy Jake copyrighted? I see him everywhere but without he familiar copyright sign. The reason I ask is I have access to a CnC machine as well as powder coating, chrome, plating, color fill, etc... and have some ideas.

Why don't you check? I'd bet the mark is associated with BadBoyVettes.

Judging by the prices that most the stuff with the logo on it carries, yes.

I agree, I just bought a bunch of their stuff, and someone must have a copyright on it. If they don't they should get one !

It is copyrighted however if you're just making some items for yourself, and aren't selling them, I don't think you'll have a problem.

Someone on this forum showed some really nice Jake medalions about the size of the chickleys, perhaps a tad larger. I'd love to have a set for my car.

I have been looking for those. That's what got me thinking. I'll do some checking on the copyright and /or possible licensing of the image.
The chicklets are one idea. Y'all weight in on interest may sway me to get serious about this.

This vendor is doing the Jake image in the form of a "chicklet" as well as various other custom cnc badging.

My first thought is to abort my idea. I don't have the patience to handle the custom variations and the zillions of different request, most to no fruition. But to make a couple of variations in mass quantities are a possibility. May see if he wants me to take up some of his slack.
