Since there are a lot of good information here but way over my head. I have a base C6 with Koni FSD shocks and Z51 sway bars on my car. The last time I had my car aligned, I just have the guy put everything in the middle. Another word if it is -.06 and 0 then he would put it at -.3, At the road course, one of the guys used his temp gun on my tires and told me that I need more camber so I am going to get another alignment.
Other people at the track told me that I should just get a Z06 alignment and have everything centered (I assume it means that I should have everything put to the middle again).
I would like to hear back from you guys who seems to know what you are doing. Thanks
good info. I am taking my '08 Vette to a local alignment place to have it aligned soon. I had my Firehawk aligned there and the guy did a great job, even let me watch and explained things as he did it. With my Hawk he maximized caster (to give max centering as well as to give me a heavy wheel, which I prefer) and then gave me as much negative camber as he could w/o sacrificing caster. Turns out I got -1.0 camber on both sides, 5.5 caster and 0 toe. It made a BIG difference and my tires are wearing just fine....it's been 3-4 years now.
Tell me if I am off base here with my Vette. In the rear I want 0 camber and 0 toe. The front I want a decent amount of caster (like a heavy and self centering wheel), -1.0 degree of camber and 0 toe. I like the quick steering response of 0 toe and I don't mind at all the tramlining that sometimes occurs with 0 toe.
Has anyone run these specs or have any comments for or against using them?? I basically want an aggressice "street" alignment that won't wear out tires. I managed to get just that with my Firehawk, hopefully I can accomplish this with my Vette.
