When posting a simple (or complex) question it is good form to answer that question in your reply, even if you feel you must give your two cents worth and social commentary as well. ( hey, did I just ignore my own suggestion and put my foot in my mouth? )
I absolutely agree with your comments. I get a lot of great information from this forum but rarely post because there are a lot of people who just want to slam others or bust a joke. The forum is supposed to be both fun and educational and sometimes people loose track of that. Treat people the way that you'd want to be treated and people like myself won't just lurk in the background. I know a lot about cars and motorcycles but choose to keep my comments to myself. Arguing with strangers on the internet is not my idea of fun.

This is just my opinion!

My *1999* 911 feels and sounds much more "precision" than my 05 Vette does. It is an American sports/muscle car, not a swiss watch we're talking about.

Hey- lets buy a 400+hp, RWD, decent handling performance car so we can cruise to starbucks at 5 miles below the posted limit and show off our custom painted hood liners . This board never ceases to make me
I will concur that the current Porsche 911 engine platform with its state of the art dry sump oil lubrication system and 4 (four) separate scavenge pumps that picks up oil from each of the 911's four engine corners whether the oil is hurled fore, aft or sideways under either acceleration, braking or cornering is by definition "precision machinery".

Because my LS3 lacks these "precision" engineering features; I don't do burnouts, neutral drops, power braking etc., out of fear of breaking something that I don't want to foot the repair bill for.

It's not usually "precision engineering" that fails, but rather the lack of it.

Traction control off and just floor it, be carefull the short sidewall tires tend to make the rear fishtail! You don't want to end up on a YouTube crash and fail clip with mustangs hitting walls and going into crowds..

I can do it somewhat. I put my foot on the brake and hit the gas but I'm always way to gentle on it because I'm worried I might cause damage.

So a few questions:
1) what's the proper procedure?
2) can something go wrong if i put my foot on the brake too hard?
3) can something go wrong if i add gas too fast?

Thanks!
Here's a visual lesson for you, Warrior is pretty good at it

This thread is over 10 years old, but burn-out videos are always in style.
