I ordered a '09 coupe with the Z51 Performance upgrade. My question is do the Vette’s that have this package come with a Z51 emblem on the front panels?
Yeah, it gets stamped on your forehead when you take delivery.
The first Z28s did not get badged that way, they had RS SS badges. This is all so funny....
My point was that GM has been putting performance "Z--" RPO option designations on cars for many years, Just because the factory chose not to use the Z51 code as a badge for Corvettes, (probably to avoid confussion with Z06/ZR1 etc) does not mean that adding the emblems is a bad thing. If it works for you then do it, if not, dont !!!!
It's funny, because lately this seems to be the first thing everyone asks me when I end up talking cars with someone and they find out I have a Corvette.
I have decided to start messing with people and ask, "What is a Z06?" when they ask me this to see how they respond.

I would bet that 75% of the people, who own sport cars, can’t tell you all the performance features it has?
You could put a ZR1 on and a large percent of people would think you have a ZR1.
I’m going to keep my Z51 badge. It's the American Thing To Do
And when I smack a Magnacharger on it and blow by your Z06, I'll point at my Z51 emblem and wave about $10k in the air at ya. What's a stinkin badge mean THEN?
You do know they make superchargers for Z06's too..right? Everyone always talks about their modded car vs a bone stock Z06.....but Z06 guys mod just as much(if not more) than anyone.
Also,I wouldn't wave that $10k around too hard.......you may very well need it when parts start breaking being your powertrain warranty is kaput.
