MP3 CD Help Please!
1. Select "Write files/folders to disk"
2. Drag the files you want into it (including folder structure).
3. Select "iso9660" (only iso9660) under options.
There are many issues with the MP3 player, but the most pervasive is long file names. Selecting ISO9660 will make the folders and file names have 8.3 naming convention, and the Corvette can read those. Ex, if the file mane was "01 - Welcome to the Jungle - Guns 'n' Roses.mp3", this name is too long and the Corvette won't see it. Selecting ISO9660 will make the file name on the CD "01_-_WEL.MP3" and the Corvette will be able to read it.
It does play 'regular' burnt audio CDs fine...just not mp3 data discs...
Are there any other programs you guys are using?
1. What year and radio do you have? I have an 07 with Navigation. Maybe if you have a non-Bose or non-nav radio, you will have different issues.
2. Have you successfully burnt an audio CD with the same CD media that the Corvette can't read? I wouldn't be surprised if the Corvette is picky with the media it will accept.
3. Maybe you have an issue with your radio being damaged. Try the disk you made before on somebody else's C6 (if you know somebody with one)
4. I have created several MP3 CDs for the Corvette using Imgburn (and Nero 8). Here are the exact settings I use for options on ImgBurn version 2.4.1.0. The Nero settings would very similar.
File System= ISO9660
Preserve Full Pathnames= unchecked
Recurse SubDirectories= Checked
Include Hidden Files= unchecked
Include System FIles = Checked
Include Archive Files Only = Checked
Clear Archive Attribute = Unchecked
I found it kind of weird that the Corvette won't play the same MP3 CDs I have used in my previous cars, my wife's car or any rental car.
Good luck.

Below in quotation marks is a thread I posted a couple of days ago in the Audio section. It has been viewed 31 times with no responses. I wanted to give it a couple of days before I posted it here. Since this thread is getting some traffic, I am hopeful someone here can help.
"I have found a couple of threads that are close to what I am looking for in terms of help, but I can't quite get things to work.
I have a 2008 Corvette with the factory NAV radio. Most of the songs I have on my iPod were purchased from iTunes. Based on reading some other threads, I have learned that these songs are not in the MP3 format. iTunes will not let me burn an MP3 disc. What I want to do is get about 150 songs (or whatever is possible) on an MP3 CD that will work with the NAV radio. What I have been able to do is burn an audio CD using iTunes. I then have ripped that CD onto the hard drive of my computer. As I ripped them, I was able to import them as MP3. I then had to burn an MP3 disc. So far, this is how far I have gotten. I have made one MP3 CD that has 12 songs on it all in one folder (I say folder like I really created a folder. Maybe I should say 12 songs all in one location). All of the artist, song title and album information is gone. I have read a little about ID tags, but I do not fully understand what needs to be done. I am also uncertain at what point the artist information is lost. Here are my questions:
1. How many folders can I have on the MP3 CD? How do I create them?
2. How many songs can a folder hold?
3. How long can the song titles be? I have read that it is something like 25 characters or so.
4. How can I keep from losing the song information? Or is it going to be lost and I have to manually type it? If so, at what point do I have to type it?
I will be happy to provide further information about the software on my computer if needed. It is a Windows PC and in terms of ripping / burning software, it has whatever came preloaded on the Dell PC. I have not purchased any ripping / burning software, but would be happy to do so in order to get this to work. If you have particular questions about the version of iTunes I have or what version of MediaPlayer I have, etc., just let me know. I am at the office now and it will be tonight before I can look any of that information up."
Any help you can give is greatly appreciated. Thank you for reading.

However, prior to burning, i did make sure the ID3 tag was correct.
Goodluck! I hate iTunes, but at least I found something that works in the Vette!!!
Also, how do I make sure the ID3 tag is correct?
Thanks.

Yes choose mp3 CD that is correct, I am not sure about copy protected tunes, as mine are all my own mp3 and none where bought from iTunes......I think there is a way to burn Itunes purchased mp3s, I heard you have to burn them as an audio CD then ripe them back into mp3 files, I am just going from what I have read here on the forum, I have never done this.
As for the ID3tag i use Winamp as my media player and it has an Auto-tag function.

In my opinion your goal is to convert the m4p songs to mp3, then you can burn the mp3 files after. Good Luck.
To set mp3 ID3 tags correctly, you can use a free program called MediaMonkey. Make sure to set both ID3V1 and ID3V2 tags with it.
Any thoughts about the lost artist names, titles, album info?
If I don't have the tags properly configured and they are already MP3 files, then I will use MediaMonkey to get tag info. The MP# file needs the tag info before you burn it to CD.
BTW The Hokies are rumored to play the Tide opening game 2009.
