MP3 CD Help Please!
I do not consider myself a newbie or amateur at computer stuff, I have made/burnt plenty CDs and data discs before.
I burned the disc using VERITAS Record Now DX software, yes, as a DATA CD and not a mp3/audio disc.
None of my files are protected in anyway, the songs are all from my personal collection of mp3s.
I haven't tried using another burning software yet, wanted to ask first.
Has anyone used Veritas Record Now to make Data mp3 discs that work in the C6?
Maybe its another issue?
Is there anything else I should now about burning mp3 CDs for the C6?
Any suggestions or tips would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks!

Outcome: Vette doesn't even recognize the CD!!! Huh?!?
Have to try a different media brand and different mp3 files...
anyone?

Edit: Just saw your last post. If it didn't see any folders then you must have had 2 songs in the root folder. The folder names are also limited but there you get 29 characters.

1. Select "Write files/folders to disk"
2. Drag the files you want into it (including folder structure).
3. Select "iso9660" (only iso9660) under options.
There are many issues with the MP3 player, but the most pervasive is long file names. Selecting ISO9660 will make the folders and file names have 8.3 naming convention, and the Corvette can read those. Ex, if the file mane was "01 - Welcome to the Jungle - Guns 'n' Roses.mp3", this name is too long and the Corvette won't see it. Selecting ISO9660 will make the file name on the CD "01_-_WEL.MP3" and the Corvette will be able to read it.

If it doesn't play MP3s is there another OEM head unit that I can drop in that does?
Anyway, burn a test disc with only a dozen or so songs with less than 25 characters, if it works than your in.

The other must have program, IMHO, is ID3TagIt.
