And, today's newsprint is NOT like yesterday's.......... The new EPA friendly inks don't ever dry. They will smear on warm glass. I use Stoner's and a diaper.

SprayWay aerosol and Erie Cotton Blue 100% Cotton Surgical Huck Towels. The surgical towels IMO are better than microfiber towels.

I have found that paper towels can be abrasive and over time will put very light surface scratches even in glass. Granted I am a perfectionist. However, I have seen these surface scratches when the sun is very low in the sky. I don't know why mirrors are more susceptible to scratching, but I think they must be softer. If you look at outside mirrors that have been wiped with paper towels I guarantee in the correct light and angle you will see surface scratches.

Don't think of washing the glass when it is hot or in the strong sun , Or the glass will streak like a SOB. Wait untill it's cool, like in the morning.

I could not agree more. I only do the windows at night on cool glass. Streaks show up better at night and I am able to get rid of them.

I've used old news papers with Stoner's Invisible Glass for years and it's the best solution bar none and the cost is right. But now I'm using a MicroFiber towel. And I never attempt to clean the glass when warm or hot.

1/4 rubbing alcohol and 3/4 tap water in a spray bottle. That's it!

Oh, and I use that solution to clean the OEM 5 spoke Gumby wheels when I frist arrive at a car show. Cleans 'em right up.

I've had good luck using chrome polish on the windows and just terry cloth towels.

I consider myself a pretty good window washer. I never had problems, windows were always free of streaks or smears. With that said, since I got my '08 (p/u at NCM) I have not been able to get the windows clean. There seems to be something on the windows that cause's them to smear.

I've used all the window cleaners, including Invisible Glass, it also leaves alot of smearing on the glass. I use microfiber towels, cloths, terry towels...you name it. Nothing works. It's driving me nuts. I know I'm pickey when it come to the Vette, but Ray Charles would be able to see the results.

The windows are always cleaned while the car is in the garage, always out of the sun. I believe there's some type of wax or polish on the windows. When I spray the windows with the cleaners, it seems to smear. How do I get this stuff off?

windex them, and then use a quick wax, or hand wax on them comes out really well.

Stoners Invisible Glass and a Glass Waffle Weave MF towel makes for a huge difference. Sprayway works too. Aerosols seem to have a little extra punch and both are nice and reasonable in price.

Default Simple & Cheap & Effective

Try using 2 clean buckets; one with soapy warm water (dishwater detergent works well); one with clean cool water. Each bucket has its own cleaning towel (good quality terry-cloth wash cloth size works well). Don't get the soapy towel in the clean cool water bucket.

First wash a window surface with the soapy water towel.
Do this twice if window is especially dirty or filmy.

Next use the clean cool water towel, well wrung out, removing
the soapy film left on the window.

Next use a clean terry cloth towel to dry.

Repeat on the opposite side of the window.

You will be impressed with the results.
