Default Electrical question

Does anyone know if the C6 is CAN bus or R-Ladder bus (I doubt this one) or neither one. I was curious because I want to install an item for bluetooth and they want to know which one it is. Thanks.

I don't know anything about Bluetooth but do know that when I bought a scanner/code reader it had to be CAN enabled for the C6.

CAN bus is required for any OBDII communications in the Corvette. The rest of the data communications on the Corvette is accomplished via the GMLAN which is a GM standard for high speed data communications between the major control components of the vehicle and the class two serial bus. CAN is really nothing more that a data protocol for serial bus communications.

I know that doesn't really answer your question but it has CAN capabilities which is the data format for the on board diagnostics but much of the communications for the car are transported via the GMLAN at least those that need "real time monitoring" use the GMLAN as communication is faster with some on the Class two serial bus. The BCM will translate the Class II data for the GMLAN.

Do you know what they need to interface with?

Thanks for the info. Yes they want to see if they can tie into the steering wheel controls for Bluetooth.

Wow, be sure to let us know how THAT goes...could be very interesting! CAN is an Intel standard I think..."controller area network"... not new, its from sometime in the 80's
