Has anyone ever converted an A6 car to an A4? I am thinking about it since noone knows the A6

It appears that old timers and muscle car drag-strip runners have no inkling about close-ratioed trannys.

Noone can answer any questions about what needs to be changed after installing a torque converter. Hp tuners does not know what values do what? Here is a post I made. Check it out http://forums.corvetteforum.com/show....php?t=2081387

Its not that at all. I love the A6. I am just very aggravated that noone can help tune it. Sure it works good on a stock or mildly modded car. Put h/c/I a converter, gear and a 100 shot and see what happens. Look at some of the tuners on here that are totally against aftermarket converters on the A6. Ever wonder why. just my .02

Very difficult because of the computer. The computer controls the engine and the transmission. In addition to the mechanics you will need someone to develop a program that will run the whole thing.

My no forum buddy with his 07 A6 with A&A Vortech seems to work just fine with 500+ rwhp and he is super happy with the results, now if you are talking 700+ rwhp then I think the tranny needs some help and I bet the vendors are working on this tranny as there lots of C6s out there now and lots are starting to mod them like my old C5

Best thing to do is get an 05 with A4 if you really want an A4.

The auto tranny has its own computer, called the TCM. (The C6 has a ECM and a TCM, it does NOT have a PCM.) If you swap out the A6 and replace with an A4, you'll have to install an A4 TCM too.

The A6 TCM is internal to the transmission, part of the valve body, so it will automatically be removed when you remove the 6 speed transmission for the swap. The TCM for an A4 is external to the transmission, so you'll need a short harness to install the correct TCM (one for a 2005) for the A4. No biggie, just something you have to know.

Why in the world would you want to swap out the great A6 for a A4?

Ask Chuck Cow if he knows anything about the A6.

Thanks for your suggestions guys. I have converted cars from Standards to autos. I used xxxxxxxxxxxxx tranny controller. It works great. I have heard alot of good things about Chuck and his tuning. The problem is, I would never have someone tune my car and LOCK it. That’s not cool at all.

DON'T DO IT MAN!!!

The A6 is an amazing trans if you talk to it right.

The only problem with the A6 trans is that it must be programmed (tuned) by me in person...You come to me...or I come to you.

But all that has changed. I'm telling you this in small print cause it's not been made public yet.....But, Possibly by the end of the day today...EVERYONE will have an opportunity to have the Chuck CoW A6 tune....NO MATTER WHERE YOU LIVE!

Stay TUNED!
