i also obtained my ceramic pads from Gene. Dust is much less now. when i first put them on i did get a little more than i expected, but after a couple of weeks the dust was probably reduced by 90%. i do, however, still get occasional squeal when the brakes are warm, but much reduced from the semi-mettalic.
I purchased a set of generic ceramic pads at a discount parts house for my C5 and did not notice any difference in stopping power and very reduced amount of brake dust.
When my factory pads wear out I will do the same with the C6.
Well, I went ahead and bought the GM Ceramic pads from Gene and installed them yesterday. The install was fairly simple and most anyone with a 15mm and 18mm end wrench should have no trouble with this job. The most strenuous part of the job is removing and reinstalling the wheels; the rest is easy. After driving twenty or thirty miles I observe no squeeling and so far zero dust. Much different than my dust generating original Z51 brake pads.

Mine were done yesterday as well. So far, so good.
I have had mine installed for about 2 weeks and i hate them. They squeel 10times louder than the originals i had on. I dont know what the problem is.
Sorry to hear that. I didn't have a squeeling issue to begin with, just dust. I have heard some people complain about squeeling with Hawk ceramic pads; that's the reason I got the GM pads from Gene Culley. If yours are GM, maybe you got a bum set. The part numbers for mine are 88909667 (fronts) and 88909668 (rears).
I ordered my GM ceramic pads today from Gene. Someone mentioned putting "goo" on the pads. What is "goo" and where does it go? I plan to install the pads as soon as they arrive and want to have the "proper goo" on hand!
I have no idea what "Goo" is. Gene's pads come with a tube of silicone lubricant and instructions on what to lube. So that's what I did.Nothing else. They went on fine and so far drive just fine.
