Default Snow Tires - Here We Go Again

for all you brave souls that drive your C6 year round in the great white north, Tire Rack is now showing Pirelli Winter SotoZero snow tires in OEM sizes for order. Fronts are available and rears will ship end of August.

Let the "drive it" vs. "store it" battle begin!!!!!!!!!!!!

Went on vacation to spring training in Arizona last March in our '07. Stayed up in the mountains NE of Phoenix. First morning at our hotel got up and found a light dusting of snow on the ground and on the vette. First snow I've ever driven on. If I lived in the snow country I'd probably TRY to drive my vettes year-round. Here's my vote - drive it!

Thanks for the heads up! Reno isn't quite the great white north but it looks like these will help me out on those mild snow days.

What's snow? Is that something to do with leaves changing color or ground swells of northern white hairs(aka Q-Tips) clogging up the Florida byways-something like that, right???

I'm leaning toward the 240 Sotto Zeros or the F1 A/S tires for my winter tires. Before the Sotto Zeros were available in stock sizes I was considering the 245/45/18 and 285/40/19 sizes. I still might go with those over stock sizes to give a little extra ground clearance (the tires listed are 1" larger in diameter than stock).

Once I'm done with this global warming thing and the polar ice caps have fully melted and all you smartarses are using boats to get to your houses (the ones not totally underwater that is), we'll see who's laughing then!!!

Ha, we may be underwater, but you'll still have Cleveland-so there

So I guess you're one of those Q-Tips driving your Corvette really slow (because of tire studs???) in the passing lanes here in Sunny Florida

I've been considering the F1 A/S-C, but the Pirelli actually claims to be a "snow tire". Its construction sounds very much like the Bridgestone Blizzak, which is good. On the other hand, it's not a run-flat (Pirelli's run-flat SottoZeros are all H-rated 17-inchers). Still, I might give them a try.
