I am considering the GM bra and one that Mid America has on their web site for $99 with a cut out that shows the logo.
Have the GM bra, bought it from dealer for little less than MidA.. use it on road trips only.
Like the fact that it snaps (where are the black snaps GM!) into the wheel well as friends have had other brands come loose and have marked up the paint with the "flaps" flapping.. other one I considered was the Colgan Bra but due to time and price went with the GM. They look to be about the same as far as fit and installation.
One thing to note about installation.. be sure to use thin plastic insert (I cut up a plastic one gallon milk carton) to install the flaps around the lights, and a couple of them do not go all the way down, bottoming out on something under the rubber headlight seal..
Still considering Clear Bra for everyday driving, getting some stone chips up on hood where GM bra doesn't go..
For road trips.. price and fit.. my money is on the solid GM (no opening on the nose for insignia)
Colgan bra for me. extremely nice fit. not too pricey (ebay, brand new for $85-100). make sure you clean the nose really good before using one. I actually waxed my car before the trip, but you have to let the wax cure for a few days before you can put the bra on (at least the bra instructions state this). this is just fyi so you can plan accordingly.
Thanks everyone for the advice. I went with the GM Bra. Still want the car color bra but talked myself out of it since the trip will be very expensive.
please do yourself the favor and get the clear bra. It's CLEAR, so it doesnt ruin the looks of the car, and it will save your paint on those long stretches of freeway...
I totally agree. You'll be one upset dude when you see your hood dinged by gravel and rocks. The Clear bra will prevent the dings.
