Which Bra
I know this has probably been asked before but I find the search feature useless.
Planning a trip and want a good bra. Not interested in the clear and was looking for suggestions.
I am considering the GM bra and one that Mid America has on their web site for $99 with a cut out that shows the logo.
The one I really want is the color matched bra but it is $500.

I find if you use the advanced link on the search its better....
As far as a bra choice... I have gotten Speed Lingerie to do all my C5's and C6's so far...
This last one Richard at SL color matched AND added my stripes into the bra so it would not cut the stripes off when I had it on... its awesome... SL is my choice.... yep its pricey... but are vettes are too and we still buy them.... I want what is best for the car and looks...

I did and wound up with threads that have nothing to do with bras such as a thread on the new batman movie.
I am interested in personal experience the ownes have had not just what someone selling the bra has to say about them.

Go with GM bra. It fits snug, thick enough not to worry about pebbles etc., has felt backing so no scratches (of course make sure that your car is clean prior to installing). Price is very reasonable especially if you consider that you aren't going to be using it everyday.

I hear you but this trip will probably be 4000 miles and I don't want to repaint the nose when I get back.
I have seen the clear and don't like the line it leaves and you can't take it off. I want to remove the bra when not on road trips.
Never heard of them do they have a web site? That is a very nice looking bra.

There is only one real choice. Go to Southern Car Parts and look at FBM 600. I have owned many bras in the past and they are a two edged sword. Leave them on too long and they can mar the clear coat where they rub around the front fenders. This bar is make of a mesh that is very soft and the design does not allow it to mar the paint. Great product. If you drive on freeways you WILL get rack chips, period. The clear bras do not come on and are pretty silly to me. Price for this bra is $145 and well worth it.

I have the GM bra and love it. I use it just the way you will be. It is easy on and off, fits very snug and won't scratch the car . Make sure the car is clean before installing. The clear bra's just don't look right to me. The great thing about the GM bra is that you have the best protection when you need it and none when you don't. Check the parts section for prices. Gene Culley at GM Parts House has it for around $80.00.

I purchased the GM bra and used it last month on a 4000 mile trip, but when I put it on last Friday for a short trip to the Keys one of the straps failed and it became useless, I have not determined if I can return it yet.

Don't feel badly about poor search results. That's been my experience as well. The advanced search doesn't work very well either. It's a great forum, but the search function is really very weak.
My choice is the Colgan Bra. Here's what it looks like. It's available only in black. Good luck with your decision. I too think a good quality bra on a long road trip is a good idea. Heck, I even put my removable front plate on just for the peace of mind it gives me. No 'probable cause' = no hassles on the road!

The thing is you never know when you will need protection. I had a guy key me hood and he didnt see the clear bra. Instead of having to repaint the hood all I had to do is replace the clear bra hood piece and it looked brand new. I know for a fact had I had a leather bra on it he would have gone up the hood a little higher.
