Default LS2 Dipstick Question

Stupid Question? Does anybody know how many oz. of oil is from one hole to another on the LS2 Dipstick? I have a reading of two and a half holes and do not want to overfill. Thanks!

I think that once it's down to the add mark it's one quart low.

Can't answer your question, but the oil should be to the top of the cross-hatched area. 2007 owner's manual, page 334.

If the oil is below the cross-hatched area at the
tip of the dipstick, you will need to add at
least one quart/liter of oil.

Just add a little at a time until it's up to the full mark.

I assume the crosshatch area is one quart but have never checked it to make sure.

As long as there is oil on the dipstick crosshatched area you are ok. It's best to leave it alone if that is where your oil level is. Unless you feel like playing around with it. (adding and subtracting oil as you go along) You will be 1 quart low at the bottom end of it though.
