Ok so I'm driving down the street when I notice a Red C5 coming towards me...my windows are down so I figured I give him my two finger "V" for Vette wave...you know like the Richard Nixon V for Victory. Well as we get closer and I start to put my arm out...he veers towards me and then swerves back again !! I'm thinking what the f#%! was that all about? Is that some sort of new kind wave??? If I had done the same it would have been a head-on collision. So what is the wave is it a ...or the beauty pagent wave where you only turn your wrist from side to side..or just a raise of your hand??? Please tell me it's not veering your car towards another Vette...or maybe this guy was just an a$$!!
I had a guy in a Vette Convertible hold his hand up, wave and did the wave with his car as you described, no problem as he was in front of me. I stick to the good ole fashioned hand wave.
I wouldn't use the Winston Churchill "V" for victory...the peace sign. I just raise my hand either over the steering wheel or out the side window. Why he veered towards you I can't imagine.
My left hand is usually over the centre of the wheel (I know it's not ideal, but it's what I prefer). When I wave, it's my two fingers together raising up while still on the wheel (essentially, a "recognition" more than an actual "wave")
It's 50/50 around here (in terms of a response) and according to my wife, looks "cool."...lol
I have a few diff waves i use, just depends on traffic or if i have time to wave. Sometimes it's the two finger wave on the steering wheel, other times it's my arm sticking out the window waving like a chicken with its head cut off.
I always try to wave at other Vettes, but sometimes a Vette will slip up on me or i will miss a Vette all together.
