Me, I get the new car for less money...It's a matter of principle given the deals available on new 08/09 Z51, NPP equipped cars, and 436 hp is plenty for street and light track use. Full warranty on the new car is a plus, and the gas mileage is phenomonal...

Of course, if another 50 or so horses are worth it to you, go Z... Whichever you end up with, welcome to the fold...

My vote goes to the 08 Z51. Brand new, plenty of horsepower, removable roof.

In State Buyers pay sales tax based on where you live, licensing fee, and no other fees.

Out Of State Buyers pay no fees. If you would like to fly in and drive the car home, you will have to pay 8.25% California sales tax. We can also have the car shipped to our dealership in Reno, NV for about $400 and you can fly in there and pick it up without paying the 8.25% California sales tax, but you will have to pay the sales tax in your state. You can also have the car shipped from our dealership to your state and you won't have to pay the 8.25% California sales tax. You will be responsible for registering the car in your own state. Also there will be a 10 day hold on all checks including personal and cashier's checks. We will send you the MSO (title) once the 10 day hold has passed and it will be overnighted to you. If you are financing the car with us, we will send you the MSO (title) once we have been funded from the bank which is usually about 5 days.

Continue to save (if money is the issue) until you can get a newer Z06, you MIGHT regret not getting a Z06....jmho

I would either get an 08 or opt for the 09 one less year of depreciation and great deals are also to be had on 09s

I would always suggest one buy the newest model posssible but how will you use the car...will you be driving the car competitively? If so, you might consider the used Z06.

Otherwise, I suggest you go with the new 2008 C6. Cruising in the Z06 might do more for your ego but why buy a used Z06 for the added performance you won't use (other than for maybe an occasional straight line blast). Chances are you'll never use the full performance potential of either model. Besides, the C6 isn't too shabby in the performance department in its own right.

If no price considerations, and Z had 2000 or less miles, I'd have to get the Z!!
