I sure hope you mean that everyone you issue a citation to on that shift has done something to deserve it! It kinda reads differently...

Been a licensed driver in California for 44 years. Never been cited for driving over the speed limit.

Do I ever exceed the posted limit? Yes.

Is it inevitable that I will eventually be caught and ticketed? Guess I'll find out.

Yep, typical attitude of what is commonly known as p*ick cops...
I gotta cool down - think I'll fire up a good cigar and try real hard to forget about a-holes like y'all! It's the self-righteous attitude that bugs me -- I know myself and I'm a law abiding citizen.

I'm fighting a ticket right now for speed back in April. LEO refused to tell me or show me what he used to measure with but later turned out to be radar. I did the beam width calcs which came out at 406 ft wide and I was packed in with like 20 other cars and a truck. He couldn't possibly have locked onto me alone. He was about 1/3 mile away, across a divided freeway and on its frontage road. Yeah, hired an attorney since its in another State.

I have found that if you keep it no more than 9mph over the posted limit on the hwy, you'll be ok. For the most part. Thats my rule of thumb and I've never gotten a ticket ...yet. This does not apply to construction zones, etc..

Wonder how safe the rest of us are on the road if people can "get out of" tickets for 70 plus miles over the speed limit.

Umm, yes he can. Depends on the type of radar and how good he is/level of experience at using it. I used to do it all the time when I was a Military LEO.

Well, the thing with vettes is (no offense) but the majority of them I see going down the road are beng driven by older fellows doing 55 in a 65 in the far right lane.
Great job on the choice of car, good thinking to pass up the Caddy...

On top of that, how many people here keep the vette in the garage until nice days, and how many put a considerable amount of miles on it everyday? More face time on the road with such a car would equal better chance of getting noticed by a cop.

I've had one speedin ticket in the past 8 years, 77 in a 70... It was fairly irritating to get pulled over for that, but thats how it happens in small town WA with CA plates in a sporty car.
I switched over plates and continues to drive 5-7 over with no issues.

TO the LEO, maybe YOU dont have a quota... but that doesnt mean that other departments out there don't.....

I know for a fact a few in CA do...

Actually very safe. Was on FM 211 in San Antonio, Tx. and that was seven years ago too.

It was a road that every Sunday Motorcycle folks go to race their bikes. So, how safe are we from folks that race thier bikes.

Now don't live in a glass house and throw any stones.
