I think that if the wear is as described, inside of both tires, it had a "camber" problem (where wheel and tires do not ride flat to the road but are kind of at an angle), as oppossed to an alignment problem.
Camber is part of alignment.
Toe is much more of an issue with tire wear than camber...a couple degrees of camber with zero toe won't be much of an issue, but throw some toe out in there with that camber and all of a sudden the inside edges wear pretty quick.
I got nearly 20K out of my OEM F1 Supercars, with dead-even wear side-to-side. I'm now at around 22K on my F1 GS-D3s with several thousand miles left in them, and again the wear is perfectly even.

completely...I had an Audi TT with -1.6 camber on the rear and -.8 in the front....Considerably more than a C6 spec (-.45). Agressively driven the tires wore perfectly even over their width in 20K miles..Toe was very carefully set though (0 on the front, -1/16th rear). Everyone here is always ready to blame camber.
I lost the battle with GM for an alignment or refund for early wear of the tires. FYI they will only consider alignment changes up to 12,000 miles. Get it checked and fixed before this time and it will be covered by warrantee.
I was told that Corvettes come with the alignment set for performance handling. Like many others I discovered my front tires were worn out at 17K. Fortunately, I found an individual that knows how to do an alignment that does not take away from the handling but extends the tread life. I have put 7000 miles on the new tires with the settings below and after very careful checking the tires still look new.
My settings are as follows:
Camber (LF) -0.2 (RF) -.01
Caster (LF) 7.3 (RF) 7.4
Toe (LF)0.02 (RF) 0.02
SAI (LF) 8.4 (RF) 8.8
Included Angle (LF) 8.3 (RF) 8.7
FRONT
Cross Camber -0.0
Cross Caster -0.1
Total Toe 0.04
Set Back 0.32
Camber (LR) -0.2 (RR) -0.2
Toe (LR) 0.04 (RR) 0.05
