I think we should just drive these cars and mod the heck out of them. What's the point in trying to keep it as a low mile car? Take care of them but go out and enjoy it.

I think that's sound advice but I don't feel it has anything to do with values dropping. I would never limit my use or enjoyment of a car with concern about resale value...you should always enjoy your car to the fullest.

1000%

While a great car, the Vette is just a car. I've never subscribed to the view that you should simply leave the car in a plastic bubble to look at. They aren't museum pieces - they are meant to be driven. And, when you drive them, things happen - rock chips, dirt, bugs, scratches, etc. Stop obsessing about them and drive them! That's what they're for.

I would agree. The guy across the street from me bought a Shelby GT500 that I have barely ever seen him drive (MAYBE 3 times) and now he's selling it. What's the point??? I think it's ridiculous to not enjoy a car and just have it sit there to look pretty. My C6 is the daily driver minus the winter and I wouldn't have it any other way!

I saw the same ad and nearly laughed myself silly. That guy is dreaming!

It's a car - drive it! Waiting for a C6 to become an "investment" is going to be a long, long, long wait.

I think everyone should keep an open mind and recognize that some of us DO get enjoyment having a low mileage, very clean car that we plan to keep a LONG time while others prefer to drive it and replace it more often. Neither view is right or wrong - just individual. Personally, I can't wait until mine is 20 years old because I know I'll still have it and it will look the same as it does today (it's sitting in the garage, by the way, due to a chance of rain this afternoon).

I have an 06 with 4,550 miles on it and plan on selling, I just don't drive it much and it stays in the garage all day. It comes out just on weekends, I'm not concern with the value cause it will just keep depriciating each year, that's on anything you buy accept for collectors edition!

Love this thread!

Drive them and enjoy them, but always, take care of them.

Sell it and get the next one!

Why not do both? I drive my C6 almost daily and my C3, that I bought new, regularly (I've have almost 200k on it now)

I just took a 2800 mile trip in my 07 vette (which now has 16,500 miles on it). Before the trip I agonized about buying a bra for the front of the car. Well, I decided not to get the bra, took the trip, washed the car a few times on the trip, a couple times at my destination, and a super wash job when I arrived back home. Guess what? All the bugs came off & I found only one very small rock chip at the bottom of the front facia.

This car is my daily driver. I try to take good care of it, keeping it looking clean and well maintained, but by gosh I am going to drive the hell out of it until I am tired of it and replace it with a new one.

I do not do car shows, but when I drive down the street people wave which causes me to believe that the car still looks pretty good.

I am retired, but I drive this car every day and each time I get in it I like it just a little more!!!!
