The car is back from the shop, looks good as new. Although they put on a 2008 emblem when I told them I had swapped in 2009's....
So I guess I have to get them to swap it out.
I would be afraid to remove that emblem from a fresh repaint or any repaint for the matter. The paint around the area might just come off with the emblem.
The did put it back to factory original with the right 2008 so I wouldn't try to hold them liable.

I pulled the original off with a few thousand miles.
I am in no rush for them to swap is (just that it eventually gets done), but a heat gun should take them off with out issue. People heat gun off badges on brand new cars where the paint is maybe a week old.
Worse comes to worse, I'll heat gun it off in the spring and put on a new one.
To the other poster the 2009's have a Chrome surround as opposed to the Matte Silver surround on the 2005 to 2008's.
Most dealers will say they have to paint the whole panel though which can get expensive. They said $500 for a golf ball dent on my Denali. I'm visiting Dentpro since it didn't break the paint.
That sucks...I feel ya though. My 07 Z is the first car I have really driven a manual on, as I have owned autos (only owned 2 sports cars, a V6 camaro and a Firehawk) and no one in my family has owned a manual=no practice. I was doing alright and never had a problem until <1 week after I got my Z, I stalled on a slight incline cuz I was nervous for some reason. I rolled back a lil but caught myself...the lady crept up on me and when i restarted and went I did the normal lil roll and boom, rolled back into her. I have a tiny mark on my rear end....ugh. GL with the fix!
