Default Fender Bender...

So I've had the Corvette for 4 months and 5700 miles and today it officially became mine. I managed to rear end someone at low speed (one of those you thought they made the right turn but they just moved up around the corner about 10 feet and stopped again). My fault so no one to get mad at but myself.

Anyway I am taking it into the shop on Thursday, so hopefully the shop makes it good as new. My AW will be put to the test as far as paint matching goes.

Too bad about the accident but stuff like this happens to the best of us. It should be fine. Good luck!

Not sure about that. I have a buddy who's an adjustor at a shop. He quoted me close to $800 for the rear end to be repainted. I'm no adjustor, but I would venture to guess that the nose piece costs just as much to repaint and color much as the rear.

$750.00 to clear my front bumper from a few light rock scratches. Plan on doing this over the winter, seeing that I can't wax it for 90 days after repair.

That should be an easy fix.
Do you think that a clear bra might have reduced the damage a bit?

All of the black marks would be on the bra and not on the car. All you would have had to do would be replace the clear bra and it would have been good.

not that bad....I did the same thing before...now I make sure the person in front is completely gone before I move at all.

if this is the worst accident you have in the vette, consider yourself lucky.

Ouch. Fortunately it will be easy to fix and will be just like new.

Good luck and consider it a learning experience

Depends, the bumper did have two dents in it (The deep gray blotch is a dent on top of the paint being scrapped off). I'd assume that those would still be there even with a bra.

Question;

That lip (edge) by the right front light has come up...is that an easy fix because what holds it back in place?

Also, I would think a clear-bra would have saved the scuff marks.

Sorry for your minor damage but hopefully this won't be expensive.

Red Cell.

Sorry to see that happen. It should be fixed up just like new. Just be glad no one was hurt. Good luck.

PS: It's good to see someone admit fault without blaming something or someone else.

Sorry about your dent.

If you needed to get that ticket punched, you did it cheaply and smartly. You can now check off that box - let's see, dent car, check!

I only hope I am as lucky or smart when I ding mine the first time!

The car is back from the shop, looks good as new. Although they put on a 2008 emblem when I told them I had swapped in 2009's....

So I guess I have to get them to swap it out.

That lip just snaps down in place. Very easy to fix.
