Jay loves vettes. On a show he gave one that was modded to the owner of the laugh factory (?) for his years of helping starting comedians out, giving them food, places to stay, etc...
Jay said it was the best bang for the buck car there was.
That sat in my mind for some time, especially with all the cars he owns and can afford to buy, he loves vettes .....well, that planted a seed. That seed was watered by doing research on cars. The various mags and online sources all said the same thing, best bang for the buck and the difference between it and the exotics were small percentages, but huge dollars more.
Last time I talked to Jay we discussed his latest steam car addition, and one of his stationary steam engines. He is the ultimate car guy so why wouldn't he say Corvette.
He owns several Corvettes including ZR1 number 2. One of the nicer ones is a Yellow C5 Z06. Besides some custom trim, it has a blueprinted LS7 engine. The custom badge on the front fender says Z06 514 HP.
He's spoken many times about his affinity for Corvette...of all the cars he has to choose from, the Corvette is the one with the most mileage. He said 'not as finicky as an exotic...it's a Chevy, you can fix it with a hammer and keep going.'
Can't wait to see his C6RS after he installs the sequential shifter.
