Craftman Professional 4000lbor Harbor Freight 6000lb jack stands?? Any prefer one over the other? H.F.'s are less money too. Just need opinions from those who have them.

I have the Craftsman simply because if I have a problem with it I know they stand behind their products.... The jack works fine and use it with 3 other vehicles. It might sit a little lower than the HF model but I'm not sure about that............

When it comes to automotive tools, I generally use Craftsman knowing they sell quality products. I have both 3 ton and 3.5 ton Craftsman jack stands and they work fine.
If you think you'd use jack stands under a cross-beam adaptor, you might look for some that have a wider 'cradle' for a more secure fit. I recall there was a post mentioning a certain brand of jack stands that fit the adaptor beam but I don't remember the brand.

That's when I looked at Sears and H.F.'s which are considerably less expensive. If the quality and safety is the same betwwen the Sears and H.F.'s, then H.F. wins. Only issue is the tops of both of these stands being able to fit on the pucks (of course no issue with the ESCO's).

So,all things being equal, I guess saving some money with the H.F.'s is the way to go.
