Both the 911 Turbo and the Z06 beat the GTR in the 1/4 mile and that was Nissan's ringer. Everything I've read about the production model shows that the performance of the GTR is slightly better than a base Vette but inferior to the Z06 and vastly inferior to the ZR1.

Never argue with a fool. People watching may not know which is which...
I don't worry about GR-Rs I have a Vette!

Not quite. The real truth about automotive performance is as follows (memorize and repeat daily):
The ONLY thing that beats cubic inches . . . is rectangular dollars (or Euros or Yen ).
References: Corvette ZR1, Ferrari, Porsche, Lamborghini, Toyota Racing Development, etc. etc. etc.

One last thought - who really cares whether a Nissan or a Chevy is faster? Ask yourself if you're really that insecure. Drive what you want - the reality is that most of us will NEVER come even close to exploiting the performance capability of either vehicle. And if we were at those limits we probably couldn't handle it anyway.

I was at a dragstrip in Phoeninx AZ on the same day and time as a GTR with my Base C6. the bet it could run was a 12.33 using launch control to my 12.20 . They are not as fast as everone says. This is the second GTR I have run against. Granted I have a few mods but nothing drastic.

That's always the problem with the rags - they almost always test samples provided by the manufacturers, and not real world off the showroom floor samples, so all of their numbers are usually in question.
Meanwhile... I think it's really crazy to even begin comparing an all wheel drive, forced induction, 4 seat GT to a rear tire smoking light weight 2 seater. Which one's better? One of each! If you can afford them.

Well I love corvettes. The nissan was a sharp car but don't knock my car which i own 2008 c6. He had just went for a ride in the car with the dealership owner. So his head was blown up anyway. I just won't go back there again. We are looking for a Z06 and thats what i'm going to buy whan i fine the right deal for us. I'll just go to the chevy dealer or a private seller instead.
