Help, MN6 question
Just test drove a MN6 05 vert with 27k miles. Car rides and handles very nice for so many miles.
My first drive in a manual shift C6.
My question is there seems to be a vibration felt in the shift handle and it is definitely related to car speed, not engine RPM. It is not really bad, but, it is there. Is this normal for the C6 MN6?
BTW, dealer wants $36k, 1SB with power top and chrome wheels.
I also have a o5 with mn6 and 12000 miles. I have no vibration at all. I also feel for my.02 the price is a bit strong. Are the tires new, they are at the age where they are probably either just died or about to die.
Slight vibration in the shifter is normal. But I did say slight. If its jumping all over, well that something to look into. 36 is probably a little on the high side of what I would pay.
I would also check for any issues, such as DBS(dead battery syndrone). And any flywheel issues(early run 05s had flywheel problems) that the 05s had. The LS2 engine is a good one and at 27000 miles it is just being broke in. Good luck

Thanks, think I'll pass
The shifter isn't jumping around, but you can feel the vibration.
Also, they were asking $43,995 when I first got there.
They gave me the old if you buy today storyline. I pointed out that there were better deals on the internet. That is when they started to come down. As I was leaving they asked what I wanted to pay. Offhand I told them 30k. The sales manager told me $36k and no rush to buy. The price was good when I decide to buy.
Thanks for the heads up. I think I will pass on this car. The tires probably have another 3-5k miles on them. BTW, they are F1s and it has the Z-51 option.

Totally normal. I think you can get a better deal on the car though!

and the dealer knows it. S/he's just trying to max it out.
After you check the date code on the tires (great idea, why didn't I think of that?), ask the dealer for a full carfax (they have it on retainer, or should), and tell him if he fixes/adjusts/replaces the shifter, buys new F1Supercars all around*, you'll pay 32K, plus tax.
* or you can ask for a voucher good at any time for you to get a new set at your convenience. this gives you the option to use up the current tires, and the dealer the ability to stretch out the time when they actually have to pay for the tires. always the possibility that you won't come back in....
Dont worry about the vibration! I did however feel it a bit more when I changed my stock shifter to the MGW, but then again its a sports car, aint nothing supposed to be luxury about it!
